The Big Apple

I took a girls trip to NYC with my mom and sister earlier this month. I have never been in the city, I have only been to the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. So, I was very excited when my mom told me she wanted to plan a girls trip full of city sightseeing and shopping. We were in NYC for 2 full days and pretty much packed in everything we could in those 2 days. We ate at so many great places and saw so many great sights like the Empire State Building, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Rockefeller Plaza. We went shopping in Soho and Greenwich Village. The highlight of the trip had to be the Broadway Musical, "Wicked". It was phenomenal!! This will definitely be a trip that I will remember for a lifetime! A big "THANKS" goes out to Gabe and Dianna for taking care of Ava while I was away. Gabe stayed the night at Jerry and Dianna's every night that I was away so Dianna could help take care of her. Mom and Brittany-what a great trip, I am so glad we got to enjoy some much needed time together like the good ole' days. Love you guys!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...OH MY!

A few weeks ago we decided to make the most of a beautiful Saturday and took Ava to the zoo for the first time. What a great day that was. She is so curious about everything, so the zoo was a great place for her to explore. Her favorite exhibit had to be the polar bears. She stood in the exhibit for 30 minutes or so and just watched the polar bears swim back and forth along the glass. It was very entertaining and she loved every minute of it. My parents were there that weekend so they joined in on the fun. Ava was in such a happy mood for most of the day, but was completely exhausted by the time we got home. Here are just a few pictures of Ava's first trip to the zoo.
