Easter Weekend Fun!

What a busy weekend it was with all of our Easter festivities. On Friday night, our church was having a special worship service to depict the resurrection of Jesus. What a way to kick off the weekend, by reminding ourselves that Jesus Christ died for our sins and we are forgiven and here today because of Him. It just opened my eyes even more to all the many blessings in my life. To live every day for God and don't fret about the minor problems, because there is nothing God cannot handle.
On Saturday morning, we got up early and got ready for a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Ava loved to pick up the eggs but never wanted to put them in her basket. I followed her around the entire yard, she just loved being outside and being able to run free. Later that day, we went and had a photo shoot with the Easter bunny. This, by far, was the highlight of the day! Ava laughed and giggled, flailed her arms back and forth, and wanted to grab the Easter bunny's nose and ears. She had no interest in sitting in his lap, but she sure did love to stare and poke at him.
On Sunday, we went to the church and then ate with Jerry, Dianna, Alyssa, and Amanda. After lunch, we all took long naps and grilled out later that night. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

Happy Easter 2011!

You can't really tell from the picture, but Ava really loved the Easter bunny! She kept trying to grab his nose and his ears and would just look at us and laugh at him. Here is the only picture I got on Easter Sunday, it was such a rush all morning, but at least I got one with my phone. I will have more from this past Saturday uploaded soon. She had a great day on Saturday, we went to an Easter egg hunt and had a photo shoot with he Easter bunny.

Ava is 1

Ava turned 1 year old on Monday, April 4th. We had all of her friends and family over the weekend before her birthday to celebrate and boy did we celebrate!!! We had such a good turnout and Ava had so much fun with all her friends and family. She loved her smash cake even though she didn't get too messy. She's just like her mom, she doesn't really enjoy having messy hands. She plays with her food for a good 3 minutes, but then can't figure out why her hands are so messy and is reaching for me to get her out of her high chair. She got so many wonderful presents. I will not have to buy her any clothes any time soon, because she basically got a whole new wardrobe! She got so many cute dresses, fun toys, and new books to read. At 1 year old, Ava is walking (still wobbly, but has better balance every day). She still has not said "MAMA". She has just started to sound our her "G's". She say's "DADADADADA" all day long. She is still sleeping very well at night, and she is now drinking from a sippy cup (YAY)! We are off formula (what a relief!) and now on to whole milk, juice, water, etc. She loves to eat, she wants to try whatever we are eating. Her favorite fruits are canteloupe and bananas. She is still very observant and very curious about everything. She has this new thing with her tongue, she is always sticking it out. She loves being outside, she is her happiest when she gets to walk and play outside and loves to watch Roxy run back and forth through the back yard. Here is a recap of the birthday celebration! Thanks to everyone for all the hard work and to all those who were able to make it!
